From the broadcast booth at ringside, Jim Ross and Jesse “The Body” Ventura were welcoming everyone to ASWL Inferno until “The Franchise” Shane Douglas along with Francine makes their way to the ring. Douglas said that he’s the next man in line for World Title shot and there is no one in the back that will tell him different.
“Nature Boy” Ric Flair makes his way to the ring accompanied by James J. Dillon. Flair told Douglas, “Buddy, if you think you didn’t get a fair shake at the title, describe to me about what happened last week when you stole my chance to become the ASWL World Heavyweight Champion.” Douglas said that Flair’s time in the business has been over for a long time and it’s time for The Franchise to dominate the ASWL and sees Flair as Collateral Damage. Flair got upset at the comment and challenged Douglas to a fight but then ASWL Owner Theo Clardy arrived on the stage. Clardy mentioned that the New ASWL Commissioner is on his way to the arena. Clardy then said, “Well until he arrives in the arena, I will take over things for tonight and I have found a great main event here tonight. Flair…Douglas…You want the ASWL World Champion, you got him! Tonight in that very ring, Shane Douglas and Ric Flair will TEAM UP to take on the ASWL World Heavyweight Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and a man that Flair still has an issue with…STING!” Clardy then leaves the ring as Flair and Douglas are in shock that they have to team up tonight and then stared at each other.
