From the broadcast booth at ringside, Jim Ross and Jesse “The Body” Ventura welcomed everyone to the first episode of ASWL Inferno. Ross mentioned that it was announced during the week that there will be six huge matches tonight that will determine who will go into the 6 Way Dance next week to determine the #1 Contender for the ASWL World Heavyweight Championship and a shot at the World title at the next ASWL Pay Per View entitled May Mayhem. Ventura also mentioned that tonight’s main event will have “Stone Cold” Steve Austin defending the ASWL World Heavyweight Championship against “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase.
The Rock def. “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff in an ASWL World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match via pinfall after The Rock Bottom as Koloff went for the Russian Sickle Clothesline.
In the back, Sunny interviewed Sting about facing his old rival, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair in an ASWL World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match. Sting said that he and Flair has crossed paths many times throughout their careers and tonight is no different. Sting then said that he’s going to beat Flair tonight, win the #1 Contender’s Match next week and win the ASWL World Heavyweight title at May Mayhem.

Awesome Kong & Bull Nakano def. ASWL Women’s Champion Trish Stratus and Gail Kim via pinfall when Kong pinned Stratus after the Sit-out Awesome Bomb.
In the back, “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews ASWL International Champion Rob Van Dam about winning the ASWL International Championship and facing Shelton Benjamin at May Mayhem. Suddenly, AJ Styles arrives and said that RVD was lucky to win the title last Sunday and he wants a rematch against RVD tonight. Van Dam said, “Hey, you want a shot for my International title?! Hey, it’s cool because I don’t mind kicking your ass one more time!” Van Dam then leaves as AJ seems happy at RVD’s decision.

Kurt Angle with Karen Angle def. Batista in an ASWL World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match via pinfall after a school boy rollup with the feet on the ropes.
In the back, Austin Aries got out of his car and was heading to the arena, but Aries was attacked from behind by “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. Danielson continues the beatdown until The Second City Saints arrived and Danielson quickly ran away. Punk and Cabana then checked on Aries and called for a medic.

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair with James J. Dillon def. Sting in an ASWL World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match via pinfall. During the match, James J. Dillon attempted to interfere in the match but was caught by the referee and was ejected from the match. Later in the match, Sting locked Flair with the Scorpion Deathlock and Tully Blanchard ran in and distracted the referee. Ole Anderson went on the apron to get Sting’s attention and Sting let go of the move and then knocked Ole off the apron. Then, when Sting turned around Arn Anderson hits Sting with the Spinebuster and then placed Flair on top of Sting and quickly got out of the ring as the referee turned around and counted the pinfall win for Flair.

ASWL International Champion Rob Van Dam with Bill Alfonso vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles ended in a no contest when the #1 Contender for the International Championship, Shelton Benjamin interfered and attacked both men. After the match, ASWL Commissioner Mick Foley arrived and announced that the ASWL International Championship match at May Mayhem is now a Triple Threat TLC Match between RVD, Shelton Benjamin and AJ Styles.
In the back, Sunny interviews Sting, who challenged The Minnesota Wrecking Crew and Tully Blanchard to a Six Man Tag Team match at May Mayhem. When Sunny asked whose Sting’s partners will be, Sting replies, “You’ll see.”

Diamond Dallas Page with Kimberly in an ASWL World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match via pinfall after Douglas knocked out DDP with his trademark chain he had hiding in his boot while the referee was breaking up the catfight between Kimberly and Francine.

Samoa Joe def. “Rated R Superstar” Edge in an ASWL World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender’s Qualifying Match via pinfall after the Muscle Buster.
In the back, “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase about his chance of becoming the ASWL World Heavyweight Champion tonight. DiBiase said that Austin better not over look him tonight before he goes to May Mayhem because he’s going to win the ASWL World Heavyweight Championship at any cost. DiBiase then continued that he taught everything Austin knows but he hasn’t taught him any this he knows.

ASWL World Heavyweight Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin def. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase with Virgil via pinfall after the Stone Cold Stunner. During the match, The Rock, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Samoa Joe and Shane Douglas showed up separately to scout the match. After the match, Austin stared at the six participants that will be fighting in the Six Way Dance next week to end the show.
