Many reports are stating that the former WWE World Tag Team Champion Lance McNaught (Lance Cade) has passed away. The cause and details of Cade's death are not known at this time.
McNaught was trained by Shawn Michaels and got his biggest WWE push in 2008 but suddenly ended up being released. Jim Ross later stated that "he made a major league mistake while utilizing bad judgment" and that it was instrumental to his departure. Ross referenced McNaught having a seizure on a plane and needing emergency medical care as a part of this.
McNaught was rehired by WWE in 2009, but was released again on April 2nd, 2010 without appearing on television.
McNaught worked the independents and Japan following his second release from the WWE.
Sadly, he leaves behind two young daughters. McNaught was only 29.
RingScoops.com sends our condolences to the friends and family of Lance McNaught aka Lance Cade/Garrison Cade.
Update:
PWR has learned that Lance was still suffering from abuse of prescription medication and was also having some problems at home. Reports are that Lance was at his fathers residence at the time of his passing after an ultimatum from his childrens mother.
While WWE is citing heart failure as the apparant cause of death, it should be noted that such things are rare without a pre existing condition at such an early age.
Lance's past problems are well documented and it is unfortunate that he was not able to defeat them and remain with us longer. Having seen what we have seen in this business, it is a very tough life being a professional wrestler and very easy to fall into a bad pattern of corrective drugs that are meant to help.
The cold fact is that another young wrestler has passed on at a very early age continuing a disturbing trend. One has to think of Umaga's passing as a comparison. He died of a massive heart attack that was in no doubt aided by drug use.
This will certainly not bode well for WWE or even Linda McMahons Senate race, but in all honesty they cannot bear the blame for this unfortunate tragedy.
Please keep Lance's family in your thoughts and prayers, regardless of the reason for his passing.
WWE.com issued the following statement on their website earlier today:
World Wrestling Entertainment was informed Friday morning by Lance McNaught’s father that he has passed away of apparent heart failure.

Mr. McNaught was under contract from March 2003 to October 2008 and performed under the name "Lance Cade." He returned to FCW, WWE’s developmental territory, in September 2009, and was released in April 2010.
